Privacy Policy

How TRC Marketing collects, uses and protects information from this website and from the services it provides.

Effective 29 October 2026
TRC Marketing  /  Suffield, Connecticut  /  [email protected]

1. Who this covers

This policy covers TRC Marketing, a sole proprietorship operated by Tyler out of Suffield, Connecticut, referred to below as "we", "us" or "I". It applies to this website and to the services provided to clients.

It covers two different groups of people, and it is worth being clear about which is which. The first is you, if you are a business owner visiting this site or enquiring about the service. The second is your own customers, whose information passes through systems we build and run on your behalf.

2. What we collect from visitors and enquiries

  • Contact details you give us. Your name, business name, email address and phone number when you book a meeting, fill in a form or email us.
  • What you tell us about your business. Your trade, your service area, what you currently have running, and anything else you share so we can advise you.
  • Basic technical information. Pages visited, approximate location from your network address, browser type and referring site. This comes from standard web analytics and is used to understand how the site is used.

We do not ask for, and have no reason to collect, financial account numbers, government identification numbers or any special category of personal data through this website.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a meeting
  • To prepare a quote and, if you become a client, to deliver the service
  • To send occasional follow up about your enquiry. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will
  • To keep records required for accounting and tax purposes
  • To improve this website

We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing.

4. Client customer data

When we build and run a system for a client, their customers' contact details and message history sit inside that system. That information belongs to the client, not to us. We access it only to operate, support and improve the system we have been engaged to run.

We do not use one client's customer list to market to anyone, we do not move contacts between clients, and we do not contact a client's customers on our own behalf. If an engagement ends, the client's contacts are exported and handed over on request.

5. Who else sees it

Running this service means using other companies' tools. Information may be held or processed by:

  • The customer relationship platform used to run client systems, including its email and text messaging features
  • Website hosting and domain providers
  • Advertising platforms, where a client has engaged us to run advertising on their behalf
  • Payment processors, which handle card details directly so that we do not have to
  • Email and calendar providers used for ordinary business correspondence

Each of these has its own privacy policy and its own obligations. We choose established providers and share only what is needed for them to do their part.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

6. Text messages and marketing

If you give us your phone number, you may receive text messages from us about your enquiry or your account. Reply STOP to any message and we will stop sending them. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Where we send text messages on behalf of a client to that client's customers, the client is responsible for having obtained proper consent, and every message carries an opt out.

7. Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies and similar storage, for the site to function and to understand which pages are being read. Your browser can block or delete these. Blocking them will not stop the site working.

Advertising platforms may set their own cookies if you arrive here from an advertisement. Those are governed by the platform's own policy.

8. How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept while there is a live conversation and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Client records are kept for the duration of the engagement and then for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Anything we no longer need is deleted.

9. Your choices

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct something that is wrong, delete it, or stop contacting you. Email [email protected] and we will deal with it. There is no charge and we will not make it difficult.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national law, including the right to know what has been collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We apply the same approach to everyone who asks, wherever they live.

10. Security

We use reputable providers, keep accounts protected with strong passwords and two factor authentication where it is offered, and limit access to what is necessary. No system is completely secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach occurs that affects your information, we will tell you and anyone else the law requires us to tell.

11. Children

This service is for business owners. It is not directed at anyone under eighteen and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and it will be deleted.

12. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes affecting existing clients will be sent by email.

13. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request about your information, go to [email protected].

This policy is written to be read and understood rather than to be impressive. It is not legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by an attorney. Have one check it against your obligations before relying on it.
